Greenville, TX · On-site dental labDenture Relines in Greenville, TX
If your denture has started to rock, slip or rub, the denture usually is not the problem. Your gums and jawbone change shape over time. A reline resurfaces the inside of the denture to match them again, and with our lab in the office, most relines are done the same day.

Most dentures need a reline every one to two years, and immediate dentures usually need one 3 to 6 months after extractions as the gums heal. Signs include rocking, food getting underneath, new sore spots and needing more adhesive. A reline typically costs $200–$700 in the U.S. At Longbranch, most relines are done the same day in our on-site lab.
The right reline for your gums.
Hard reline
A new layer of firm denture acrylic is processed in the lab. It lasts the longest and is the usual choice for a denture that has simply gotten loose.
Soft reline
A cushioned liner for thin or sore gums. More comfortable, but it needs replacing more often than a hard reline.
Immediate denture reline
Gums shrink quickly after teeth are removed. A temporary soft liner gets you through healing, then a hard reline once things settle.
Rebase
When the pink base itself is cracked or worn out but the teeth are fine, we move your teeth onto a brand-new base.
Implant denture relines
Implant-retained dentures need relines too, along with new attachment inserts about once a year. Snap-in dentures →
Need a repair instead?
Cracked base or broken tooth? Most repairs are finished the same day, some in about an hour. Denture repair →

Your denture is telling you.
- It rocks when you bite or drops when you talk
- Food keeps getting trapped underneath
- New sore spots on your gums
- You need more adhesive than you used to
- Your face looks more sunken, or your bite feels different
- It has been more than two years since your last reline
A loose denture is not just annoying. It rubs, causes sores and puts uneven pressure on your jaw, and loose dentures are more likely to crack.

Fit check
A dentist checks your gums, the fit and your bite, and makes sure a reline, not a new denture, is the right fix.
Impression inside your denture
A soft impression material is placed inside your denture and you bite gently, so it records the exact shape of your gums today.
Lab work
Our lab replaces the impression material with new denture acrylic. Because the lab is down the hall, your denture does not leave the building.
Try it on
We fit the relined denture, check your bite and smooth any pressure spots before you go.
Most relines: same day

When a reline is not enough.
Some dentures are too worn or too far off to reline well. Dr. Charles Patterson, our prosthodontist, can tell you whether a reline, a new denture or implant-retained dentures will solve the problem for good.

What patients ask.
How often do dentures need to be relined?
Most dentures need a reline every one to two years. Immediate dentures usually need one 3 to 6 months after extractions, once the gums have healed.
How long does a denture reline take?
At Longbranch, most relines are done the same day because our dental lab is inside the office. Call (903) 455-4161 to set a time.
What is the difference between a hard and a soft reline?
A hard reline uses firm acrylic and lasts the longest. A soft reline uses a cushioned material that is gentler on tender or thin gums but needs replacing more often.
Can you reline a denture made by another dentist?
Usually, yes. We check the fit and the condition of the denture first and tell you whether a reline will work well.
Should I reline my denture or get a new one?
If the teeth are in good shape and the base is not cracked or worn, a reline is usually enough. If the teeth are worn flat or the denture is 7 to 10 years old, a new denture often fits and works better.
Do home reline kits work?
We don't recommend them. Home kits are hard to get even, can change your bite and can trap bacteria under the liner. A professional reline costs more but fits properly.
