Quick answer: what does a partial denture cost?

In the U.S., an acrylic partial typically costs $700–$1,800, a flexible partial $1,200–$3,000, and a cast-metal partial $1,500–$3,500. The right choice depends on how many teeth are missing and how healthy the teeth that hold the partial are. At Longbranch you get your exact fee in writing before we start.

Types of partial dentures

Three materials, three price points.

Lowest cost

Acrylic partial

Teeth on a pink acrylic base with small wire clasps. Quick to make and easy to add a tooth to later. Bulkier than metal, and often used as a temporary or budget option.

Most comfortable

Flexible partial

A thin, bendable nylon base with gum-colored clasps, so no metal shows. Comfortable to wear, but harder to adjust or add teeth to.

Longest-lasting

Cast-metal partial

A thin chrome-cobalt frame with teeth attached. Strong, stable and less bulky, and it usually lasts the longest. The usual long-term choice.

Getting a partial

What to expect.

A cast-metal partial usually takes about 3 to 5 weeks; acrylic partials are often faster.

  1. Exam and X-rays

We check the teeth that will hold the partial. Any cavities or gum problems are treated first so the partial has a healthy foundation.

    Visit 1
  2. Impressions

Detailed molds of both arches and a record of your bite. For metal partials, the teeth that carry clasps are sometimes reshaped slightly so the frame sits flush.

    Visit 2
  3. Try-in

For cast-metal partials, we test the frame and the wax teeth before anything is final, so the fit, color and bite are right.

    Visit 3
  4. Fit and adjust

Your finished partial is fitted and adjusted. We show you how to put it in, take it out and clean it.

    Visit 4
  5. Follow-up

A quick check after a week or two to smooth any sore spots, usually done in our lab while you wait.

It was all a very good experience. The staff is very professional and friendly. Alishia did a great job. Dr. Patterson and Patti went above and beyond by taking care of me and prolonging their going to lunch. Thank you all so much. I 've been going to Longbranch Dental for many years and the staff has always been friendly and professional. And of course, it is always good to see Kathy's friendly sweet face

Partial denture questions

Before you decide.

How much does a partial denture cost in Greenville, TX?

Typical U.S. ranges are $700–$1,800 for acrylic, $1,200–$3,000 for flexible and $1,500–$3,500 for cast-metal partials. Longbranch gives you your exact fee in writing, and Cherry and CareCredit offer monthly payments.

Which is better, a partial denture, a bridge or an implant?

Implants are the most natural and do not touch neighboring teeth, but cost the most. Bridges are fixed but need the neighboring teeth crowned. Partials cost the least and can replace teeth in several spots at once. We explain the trade-offs for your mouth.

If I lose another tooth, can it be added to my partial?

Often, yes, especially with acrylic and most cast-metal partials. Our on-site lab can usually add a tooth without making a whole new partial. Flexible partials are harder to change.

How long does it take to get a partial denture?

About 3 to 5 weeks for a cast-metal partial, and often less for acrylic. Because our lab is in the office, there is no shipping time between steps.

Can I eat and sleep with my partial in?

Eat with it in, starting with softer foods for the first few days. Take it out at night so your gums can rest, and clean it daily.

Can you repair a broken partial?

Usually, yes. Most partial repairs are finished the same day in our on-site lab, and some take about an hour. See same-day denture repair.
