Holiday Heath for Your Teeth

As you may know, the end of the year is approaching and our staff has been letting patients know to use their dental benefits before the end of the year. What many people do not know is that dental benefits expire on December 31st and if you do not use all that they are worth by the end of the year then you lose them. That is money lost!

Also in December you and your family may be attending holiday parties which almost always involve sweet treats and fun! While you may want to dive headfirst into the cookie platter think twice about how it may affect your teeth. Our dentists here at Longbranch Dental Center have a few tips on how to avoid cavities this season. First, after eating any holiday treats make sure to brush thoroughly as soon as you can afterward. The longer the sugar stays on your teeth the worse, but if you can floss to get the hidden sugar plaque out then you are taking the proper precautions.

Make sure you are also sharing these helpful tricks with your children as well, they also have mouths that need to be cared for.  During the holiday season, many people give themselves a few weeks to enjoy whatever they would like, and we would love that for you as well! Just always remember that your oral health is just as important as physical health.

December is also a great time for you to bring your children in for an appointment with any of our highly trained dentists and dental hygienists. Take advantage of school being out and having more time than ever to make an appointment with us here at Longbranch Dental Center. We love to schedule families all together so give us a call today s0 we can schedule family appointments before the holidays.

We wish you a merry and bright Christmas from all of us at Longbranch Dental Center!
