Our main new year resolution is to continue helping our patients achieve a healthy mouth all year long. Our patients are our main priority and we will do anything we can to make each individual feel comforted and cared for during their visit.

What’s your new year’s resolution? While we know that exercising and dieting are the main factors on people’s minds, our dentists here at Longbranch Dental Center in Greenville, TX want to make sure to add you dental hygiene to that list! Your mouth is one of the most important parts of your body and you need to take care of your teeth just like you would other bones. It all starts with taking the proper precautions when flossing and brushing. Dentists are notorious for stressing the importance of flossing and brushing and this is in every single way true and relevant.

Flossing can help reduce the amount of plaque and food particles that can build up within your molars and teeth. Sticking to a consistent brushing and flossing schedule will not only reduce the need for frequent dentist visits but will also lower your chances of cavities. With the new year bringing a fresh start, our dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants here at our office will help guide you in the right path every step of the way. We will recommend the right toothbrush for you, provide you insight on the best toothpaste, and even give you a full cleaning to start your new year fresh.

We have a great team of highly trained dentists and a front desk staff that will answer any billing or scheduling questions you may have. Holiday Heath for Your Teeth

As you may know, the end of the year is approaching and our staff has been letting patients know to use their dental benefits before the end of the year. What many people do not know is that dental benefits expire on December 31st and if you do not use all that they are worth by the end of the year then you lose them. That is money lost!

Also in December you and your family may be attending holiday parties which almost always involve sweet treats and fun! While you may want to dive headfirst into the cookie platter think twice about how it may affect your teeth. Our dentists here at Longbranch Dental Center have a few tips on how to avoid cavities this season. First, after eating any holiday treats make sure to brush thoroughly as soon as you can afterward. The longer the sugar stays on your teeth the worse, but if you can floss to get the hidden sugar plaque out then you are taking the proper precautions.

Make sure you are also sharing these helpful tricks with your children as well, they also have mouths that need to be cared for.  During the holiday season, many people give themselves a few weeks to enjoy whatever they would like, and we would love that for you as well! Just always remember that your oral health is just as important as physical health.

December is also a great time for you to bring your children in for an appointment with any of our highly trained dentists and dental hygienists. Take advantage of school being out and having more time than ever to make an appointment with us here at Longbranch Dental Center. We love to schedule families all together so give us a call today s0 we can schedule family appointments before the holidays.

October Tips and Tricks!

October is always a favorite month amongst the children. Who doesn’t love getting unlimited amounts of candy? With Halloween right around the corner, we know that trick or treating means lots and lots of candy. While candy is a yummy treat, it has negative effects on the teeth for both children and adults. Our dentists here at Longbranch Dental Center in Greenville want to bring it to your attention that while candy is delicious, it can eat away at the enamel of your teeth and cause cavities. We dont discourage candy eating but want to ensure it is kept at a minimum and you follow our tips and tricks below!

The stickier the candy (caramel, taffy, etc), the longer they stay on the teeth causing decay.

Chewing sugar-free gum after meals can help reduce tooth decay

Avoid biting into hard candy- this can break off your tooth!

Try to eat candy with meals and drink water afterwards

Don’t brush immediately after eating candy since that can remove the softened tooth enamel. Wait at least 30 minutes

Better options are chocolate bars, chocolate-covered items, small hard candies, and licorice

Our staff at Longbranch Dental Center located in Greenville, TX hopes these tips ensure you have a fun Halloween while also taking care of your teeth! If you are due for your 6-month checkup call our office today at 903-231-1006
